I must be honest; I still have a big grin on my face when thinking back to the 10 under the Ben event up at Fort William at the weekend there. This was the second 10Hr event for Craig and I and we didn't want to compete as pairs again as it's quite hard work. Fortunately though we managed to persuade Allan to come along this time and make it a trio entry. More recovery time between laps and someone to talk to when your not doing a lap. To be honest none of have ever been to the XC trails at Fort William before..

We have only ever completed the Loch Chon trail once before and on our first attempt, everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. Our first visit was last year. Both Craig and I got a puncture on the exact same rock, our pumps were faulty and we got eaten alive by Midgies. Oh, I left out our unsuccesfull attempt at passing a herd of cows! (Dont ask). This trail isn't technical at all but the long, steep decent down to the Loch Lomond shores and the awesome views quickly made this trail one to remember. This was Allan's first time on the Loch Chon to Loch Lomond trail and I'm glad he wasn't dissapointed..

On Saturday 12th July Craig and Myself (Steven) participated in our first competitive Mountain biking event. For a while now we had played with the idea of entering a competition. Not that we were expecting to win something, just to experience the event, have a couple of drinks and talk about cycling all weekend. I had been working away from home a lot so I had very little miles put in the couple of months before the event. I think I managed the Red route at glentress, the Loch Lomond trail and a trip to Carron Valley. Craig on on the other hand did managed to commit to some training before the event which was a big help. Anyway, The event that we signed up for was the 10 at Kirroutree event organised by...
